MELBOURNE GRAIN MARKET. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company reports under date Melbourne, iMth April.—The accounts from tlio country continue to be of ii most gratifying character as regards both agricultural and pastoral prospects throughout Victoria ; indesd, the same may be said for the whole nf Australia. Some of the colonies, notab'v South Australia, have been visited with rains hardly known before in its history, and farmers are now hopeful that, as the subsoil lias at last been thoroughly saturated, a new lease of prosperity will fol low their labours. The Easter holidays have, since our last report, caused almost a total suspension of business in the grain markets, and hence our quotations are for the moment more nominal than actual, the test of public competition being required to Ik the position of the market. The deliveries of wheat and Hour by rail, fur the reasons alreadv aligned, are small. At Spencer-street, Williamstown, Sandridgo, and town sidings the total receipts amount to 11,!>31 b>gs of wheat and flour, as against 28,875 bass for the corresponding week in LSSB. Our total receipts at thn above-mentioned stations from the Ist of January to thn -Oth of April are returned at r>10.7112 bags, as compared with <s:iO, 1013 basts to hand between the same dates last year. Our exports from the port of Melbourne to date are returned at 1 I'S.iWI bags of wheat and floor.
