WAIPAWA, Wednesday. John Murphy, once a member of the Blenheim Police Force, and latterly barman at tho St. George's Hotel, was killed on the railway last nij,dit. It is believed to be a case of suicide, and that the deceased kid his head on the rails in front of the approaching train. He bad beeu drinking. DUNEDIN, Wednesday. News is just to hand of a large fire at St. Batliaus. The damage is put down at £1000.
