PARNELL IN COURT.

London, April MO. Tiik I'arnell Commission resumed to-day. Mr McAsqueth, M,l\, began the Examina-tion-in-Chief of Mr l.'arnoll. The latter stated his attention was first called to politics by the passing of the liallot .Act which made it possible for Ireland to have, to some extent, an independent Parliament and enable tenants to cope with landlord coercion. He described the formation nf tho Land League by Dr. Isaac Butt, and stated he came to an unsatisfactory conclusion with regard to tho proceedings of Butt's party. Witness denies lie had ever been a member of a secret society, except the Foresters. Egan had never invited him to join the Irish Republican Brotherhood. There was a political as well as social subject in tho land movement. Butt had been cautioned by the founders of tho Land League ho wo/.ld become responsible for tho foolish actions of any of its branches.
