(BY TELEGRAPH, —OWN CORRESPONDENT.) Auckland, Friday A DEPUTATION of solicitors waited on the, Hon. E. Mitclielsun, and presented an influential petition, praying the Government to re-consider the proposed removal of the Chief Judge of the Nativo Land Court to Wellington. Mr Mitchelson field out no hope of a reversal of the decision. The Chief Judge would, however, ba in Auckland as often as any other district. Payet lias been committed for trial on the charge of murdering the woman Wilson. The Auckland Amateur Athletic Club intend to take piwceedings for the return of the prizes won at their recent carnival by two members, who have broken the rules, by running as professionals. The Auckland Grocer's Association held a special meeting to-day, at which several of the farming community were present to consider a dispute in regard to fixing prices for butter and eggs. After a long discussion it was decided to form a committer, comprising three members of the Association and thiee formers to resolve upon market price for butter mid eggs. The damaged flax from the Mariposa was auctioned to day, and realised from lit* 1.5s to £13 10s per ton.
