CAMBRIDGE CRICKET CLUB.

A meeting of tho committee of the above club was held at Mr W. S. Stewart's on Thursday erening, for the purpose of receiving a statement of the accounts belonging to the Club. The accounts as submitted by Mr Stewart, who has acted as secretary and treasurer, were audited and found correct. The total receipts for the season are £29 7s (id, and there is a credit balanco of £4 12s lOd remaining, all liabilities having been discharged. Mr Stewart said the Hamilton Club had not yet paid the 10s due towards the Association Cup, which had been won by the Paterangi team. When the meeting of delegates was held in Hamilton, he (the Speaker) had proposed that each Club pay 10s, which was seconded by Mr Stevens, the treasurer of the Hamilton Club, and although he had repeatedly writton both the secretary and treasurer asking for tho monoy, it had not yet come to hand. It appeared the Hamilton Club had broken up, and no one would take the trouble to collect tho money. Several members present spoke in very strong terms of the mean manner in which the Hamilton Club had acted, and considered ifc the duty of the treasurer to see tlie amount paid. If the Hamilton team had won tho cup, they would have expected tho other clubs to have paid up, which would have been done at once, for nono of fhe other clubs would have acted in such a manner. Jt \yas resolved to pay the amount qilt of the club funds, and to take such steps as were thought necessary to rqcover the amount front the Hamilton Club. Jn addition to th«i funds in hand, there is also an entire new set of bats, wickets, gloves, etc., bought for the next season, so the club is in a very good position. Mr jjongbottom offered to take charge, of the materials, etc., until next season, which offer w»s gladly acoeptpd. Mr Stewart was accorded a hearty vote of thanks for his services, which he thoroughly deserved ; for when he took the club in hand two years ago, it was then m debt to the same extent that ho now leaves it in credit.
