iUK.S.SUS Ui-iI.IVM'.OKOIiiII, Molt! AND COS. MONTHLY dItAIN UKI'OIU' — Melbourne, April 10th.—Kineo Hio date c>r our hist iepurl., the Government Statist's returns have been issued, the small average yield of wheat in the. oniony of 711 bushels per acre. As a result, a strung speculative feeling sprang up, and prices fur a tune advanced considerably. Some large purchases were reported, aggregating about 00.000 bags, at prices from 5s 10d to Us per bushel in store. Our surplus now availablo for shipment is only about 30.000 tons, the whole of which will likely go in the shape of flour to the other colonies. In view of so limited a quantity at this early period of the season, prices are likely to bo maintained for some months to come, and towards the close of the year an advance may fairly be predicted. In other desci iptions of grain, with the exception of Barley, there is a very great deficiency this season, and large supplies of oats will require to be imported from New Zealand to supply our wants.—Wheal, advanced during the month to (h per bushel for good milling quality, bur as was almost, entirely confined to local leipiiromeul.s. and larger supplier were furthcoming, prima receded at. close to os yd buyers, with sellers at ;\s Bd, at which quotations the market is tolerably firm. Oats. —The demand continues good, and with a small estimated yield this season prices are likely to rule high. Wo quote stout New Zealand up to -Is per bushel, seed Tartarian up to 4s Gd, with Victorian from 3s 8d to Ss lOd.
