ATTEMPTED ASSASSINATION

[BY TELEGRAPH.—-I'RKSS ASSOCIATION.] Auckland, Monday. Thomas Quoi, interpreter in the recent Kiiigsland case of mutilating cattle, has reported to the police that on Saturday night a Chinaman, whom he cannot identify, made an attempt to stab him. Quoi has been frequently threatened by the Chinese because he interpreted in the case mentioned.
