A FABLE.
A farmer had a hur-.e, who'd cast tho shoes from ail his feet ; Ho to a farrier he went, to have a set comI 'It'lCj Tho farrier started work, and soon, a shoo was half nailed on, The farmer stopped him then, and said, " 1 can't wait till it's done, J want the horse this very day, for work I. luve to do, 111 bviup liiui Viiiok to-morrow, when yon can complete the shoe." Tho f-irricr grumbled. 'Twas no use, the fanner had his way, .Ami didn't bring liis horso until the end uf the third day. And then tho shoo had grown ho loose, it canned a deal of bother, He had to tighten all tho nails, ore he could drive another. At lust ho finished that one shoe, and then strange to relate, The fanner took his horse again, and said ho cmld'nt wait. One shoe svus on, and for the rest, he didn't care about 'em, j I is horso had got his work to do, with shoes 011 or without 'em. Ttvo day:; elapsed, and then ho came, jnat at tho tire was heated, And i.nd that 1:3 had L'ri-vght tha hiit.e, t: have the shoes completed. The farrmr'set to ynrk once more, and made a little show ; I',ii(. era. tho second shoe was on, tho tanner needs must go, " He'd no more time to spare" he said " in; horsu must plough tho ground ; Jle d liy to c-dl again next week, and have him shod all round," Tlic fanner never came again, but this complaint he made : He said tho blacksmith was a muff, lie did nt know his trade. " Confound the man I do declare, ho is not worth a button ; He kept niv horse a week, and then, ho scarce two shoes had put on, iiix dan ha tiicirl to fit the shoes, but ham. mered all in vaiu j
That man should never be allowed to shoe a horse again.'' Moii.-U.. If you .should want a set of shoes, allow the time for shoeing, And take the horse away just when the man the work is doing. All work reopiires a certain time, no matter how one labours, If you can't spare it, tako the blaiuo, and don't malign your neighbours. —X F.MO.
