THE WANDERER'S DOOM. Bt Cahmrn Syi.va, Qukbn ok Kouhama. Thou art returned us from the grave. The places That know thee years ag» no more for ever Shall know theo. Hero enlinked thou canst be never, Who art like some far leaf that hither chaseu Tho' people knew thee once, there are no traces Of recognition now —as when eome river Doth change its bed and banks, its bridges sever, Till drifted sand ..its former course effaces. Who was a boy with thee is now, moreover, , All wii.-e with age. He is a man, whose birth Was recent then, nor knows nor can discover Who thou mayest bo. A hero, man of worth, He guides tho ship of State, But thou a rover Art still—art sHil a stranger on the earth.
