(BT TELEGRAPH. — PRESS ASSOCIATION). Wellington, Friday. At a meeting of tho Commissioners of the Melbourne Exhibition, Sir J. Hector .said the totai cost of the New Zealand Court had been about £300 in excess of the votu (£5,000), and that the estimated expenditure approved by the Commission in March last had been closely adhered to, notwithstanding that a space of 23,000 feet was occupied instead of only 10.000, as was at that tinii) eontempliitud. The chief items in which oxtra expense had been incurred were freight, cartage, and insurance, and this was due to the bulk of exhibits sent from the colony being very largely in excess of what thn Commissioners had been led to expect. The schedule of awards showed that the New Zealand exhibits gained l> special, 127 first, 1013 fiHcond, 53 third, 11 fourth, and 80 honorable mentions, or u totnl of 334 prizes.
