RAILWAY RATES AND TIME TABLE.

The following letter has been receivod from Mr Hudson, District Traffic Manager :—A. Primrose, Esq., Hamilton : Sir, —I have the honour to inform you that the principal mattors brought before Mr Commissioner Maxwell, at Hamilton, by the deputation of which you were a member, were 1. Improved timetable; 2, special cattle trains; I?, cheap rate for small lots of produce. The time-table, resolved upon has already been communicated to you, and this includes special cattle trains from Frankton Junction to Green Lano and Re.muera on Mondays and Wednesday. This time-table conies into force on Monday next, March 11th, 1880. I am now directed to inform you that the minimum for Class E has been reduced to ono and alialf (U) tons, and that small lots of grain and Class E produce can be sent at Class E rate and a-half, and to meet your wishes, a special scale for small lots of farm produce has been gazetted to come into force on and after March 11th, 1889, and attached I give you particulars, as between Auckland and Hamilton, Cambridge and Te Awamutu ; the charges for other placee will be in proportion. The minimum of two tons has been abolished, fcjmall quantities can now be sent at this rate, which from Hamil ton is 20s per ton, equal to about one-tenth of a penny per lb.
