SCHOOL PICNIC, WHATAWHATA.
Out Whatuwhata correspondent must have been asleep, n* no report appeared of nur annual school picnic, which was held on .February Bth. The weather was all that could bo dosired. Ten was spread under shady tree*. Swings, fairies and scrambles for Mrs Diiw.son's apples were indulged in until sundown, when both yminc and "Id adjourned to tha school-room, in which the children sang and recked in a very crerlitnblo manner, fm , which thank.i are duo to Mr .'did Mrs Hcig.'in. Prisms were then drawn for, each scholar fretting one. Refreshments were liberallr supplied by Mrs Crawford, R\d gave general satisfaction. I must not forget to mention the duet so wull rendered t-.v Alices Calder and .Robinson, '• Mind You Inform Your leather," which was perfect. Danciiifr, with sours, was kept up until the early hours, the piano bailee played in Mrs Johnston's usual good style. Altogether it was a greiit success. — A Correspondent,
