FIRE ON THE STEAMER KAIKOURA.
(BY TEMilillAl'H. —I'liBSS ASSOCIATION.) CiiiiisTOHunoit, Monday, A kirk bniko out last night in the coal bunker nf R.M.S. Kaikoura, lyinpr at the wluirf. Holes were cut in the deck, and an immense bod}' of water was poured in the bunker. At midnight nil danger was over. Examination shows that the tire was confined exclusively to the coal bunker under the second saloon. This being iron throughout, .sustained do damage whatever, the only loss being a quantity of coal destroyed.
