The Waikato Times Office, Friday. AUCKLAND LIVE STOCK MARKETS. Messks A. Uuckxani) and Sons' Weekly RuroßT.—At the Haymarket during_ the past week oaten sheaves havu ranged from Is 9J to 2s Od ; meadow (my, Is 3d to 2s 3d the cwt. At the; horse sale on Friday a larger number than usual remained unsold, but those sold kept late values—useful ntoek ranging from £0 to £13 each. On Tuesday the hides offered were idmost nil cows'. Trices ranged from 2.4/1 to 2jfd the lb ; sheepskins, Is 7d to 2s 3d each. A few bales of fine wool brought from GJd to 7jjd; k.mbswool, the lb. At Wautku on Saturday the heavy rain occasioned a small sale. Prices for cattle were un■c'laneed. Lincoln rams brought from £4 15s to £1 15s ; ewes, 4s Od to Ss; lambs, (Is 61 to 9s each. At Romuern, on Thursday, useful dairy cows brought from £4 10s to £5 ss. The heifers advertised were also required, and said well; they were from eighteen months to two years old, and brought from £2 5s to £1 7s each. Tat C.ittle, generally of small size, kept late values. Steers, 14s and 15s; cows, lis to 13s the 1001b. Fat sheep, in moderate supply, were slightly better worth. Wethers ranged from 10s to 14s ; c\va>, 8s to 10s each. Lambs of good quality, in full number, ranged from 7s to 0s each. Calves were better worth 2s each, and pigs at late values. Messus Hunter and Nolan's Weekly Retort.—Grain seeds, horse feed, etc. : The supply lias been in excess of the demand, and there has been a slightly downward tendency in value, although the sales have been effected at previous quotations. We quote : Feed oats, from 3s (id to -Is 2d per bushol; maize 3s 7d ; bran, £t 10s per ton ; chaff, 30s to £2 10s pec ton ; long wool in bales, from Old to ; erossbreds, from Hjjd to7ld perlb; in bugs, G.hl to G.i'd. Horses : An average number have been brought forward, and found purchasers with little or no alteration in value. The usual number have been submitted by auction at the Durham Yards. On Friday last rather a large number were brought under tha hammer; competition was fairly good. We quote: Hacks from £5 Tw to £11 10s ; light harness horses, £G to £12 10s. No heavy draught were disposed of. Wool, hides, skins, and tallow : Heavy ox hides were in good demand at the Durham Yards on Tuesday, but cow and heifer hides were comparatively neglected. Wool was well competed for. and maintained fully the season's values. We quote: Heavy ok, to 4d per lb ; cow, 2d to 2.{d ; calf skins, 3d to per lb; sheep skins, Is 5d to 5s Id each, lamb skins, la 2d to Is Od each ; pelts', 8d to Is 3d ; tallow, 10s to 17s per cwt. Cattle: A good many fat boasts wore brought forward, and store and dairy stock have been sufficient for requirements. There has been a steady demand, with little or no alteration in value. There was a good muster of fat beasts at the Newmarket Yards on Tuesday ; but both at Papakura on Wednesday and at the Central Market really good dairy cows were scarce. Stores were in seasonable supply, and the latn rains had the effect of improving the demand, if not advancing the values. We quote :—Beef, at from 12s to 10s the 1001b. Some averages were: Steers, £4 2s (id, £410-, £4 Ss od, £4 10s, £5 4s, £5 10s, £0 15s, £7 2s Od ; cows, £3 Is, £3 2s Od, £3 15s, £4 17s Od. We quote: I Calves, 7s 9sOd to 12s Od ; yearling steers. 12s Od to £1.; yearling heifers, 12s to IBs ; grown steers, £2 15s to £317s (id ; dry cows, £110s to £2 10s ; dairy cows, from £3 IDs to £. Sheep : No stores were yarded on Tuesday at Newmarket, all being hold over fwr the Fair on Thursday, but there was a moderate muster of fat ones. Wethors sold at from 9s to 12s ; ewes, (is to 9s 3d ; lambs, 5s to 9a 9d each. Pigs : Very few yarded. AUSTRALIAN MARKETS. Sydney, February 7.—Potatoes are easy, at from £10 to £12, with declining prices. Maize is declining ; present quotations, iN 0d to 3s 3d- Oat--, 2s lOd to 3s Od.
