(UY TKLKCiRI'AH.— I'HKSS ASSOCIATION.) CHRISTCHURCH, Monday. In the Supreme Court to-day, Mr Leonard Il irper, owner of the Ilam Estate, applied for an order to restrain Wm. Marsdon, flax-dresser, from defiling the eveek flowing through Ilam, and to grant him relief. The defence submitted that the water was not damaged or defiled by flax-dressing. After a hearing Judge Ward decided that as he was sitting as a jury it would be satisfactory if he saw for himself, which he would, and adjourned the ease till Wednesday. A tender has been accepted for rebuilding the City Hotel in the Triangle. A handsome block of buildings, designed by Mr Cornelius Cuff, is to •e place the oid shanty at present doing duty. The total cost will be £4000 odd.
