Thb Dairy Tnhustrv.— In this district butter has been made during the summer at the New Zealand Dairy Association's Creamery, and at the factory of Messrs Reynolds and Company. The present supply at the creamery is over 1000 gallons, the highest supply during the season being about 1700 gallons, and GOO gallons at the Reynolds' factory. Butter is not actually made at the cieunery, but tho cream is separated and sent to Auckland daily by train. The butter turned out by both factories is of good quality, and commands a high price in the market. Thk CliOi'S. —The crops are generally good but not so good as usual, because of the cold weather during early summer. Tilcttkii Timks.—The i'ukek.ihis firmer* say that they have not felt the hard t'mes at'all. Ceitainly the prices received for produce are low, ''Ut the prices paid for provisions and stores have been equally lev/. During good times, too, money wns easily made and soon squandered, llaid times caused tliem to be inori cin-.ful, the " tick " system has been blotted out, and i n the whole they are in a much better position than seven years ago.—(Occasional correspondent).
