The following awards were made for fleece woolsßest unskirted rain's fleece, McLean (Hawkes Buy) third ; longwool, (greasy), Reed, (Oamaru), first ; R. Cobb, (Palmerston North), second ; 15.l 5 . Wallace (Papatoitoi), third. Best unskirted ewes' fleece, Reid secured first, second and third prize?. Beat unskirted ewes' fleece, not previous shorn, McLean, (Hawkes Bay,) second ; Phillips, (VVairarapa), third. The jurors in their report state that in their opinion the regulations controlling the awards, encourage tendency to breed for weight rather than quality, thus placing high class wools at disadvantage.
