NEWS FROM SAMOA.

ARRIVAL OF A GERMAN MAN-O'-WAR. AMERICAN ROMANCING. [by tklegraph—own uokbicspondknt.] Auckland, Monday. Tin; Ebor's coming to Auckland was resolved upon quite suddenly. Her Captain was surprised to learn that the steamer Wainvii, had been sent down to Samoa with despatches from Wellington, and thought that there must lie some mistake about the report. The Eber "will await a reply to despatches forwarded to Berlin shortly after her arrival, and will probably leave for Samoa again on Wednesday. The statements made in the cable messages respecting news for Samoa which is supposed to have reached San Francisco, were read to an officer of the Eber at the German Consulate this afternoon by a reporter, and were characterised as absolute untruths. "Why," remarked the officer, "we only left Samoa on the 10th or 11th, and it is impossible that they should have later news at San Francisco. It is untrue that wo burned several American flat's. It is equally untrue that we imprisoned Americui subjects, and the assertion that we lired on the captain and lieutenant of a ISritish man-of-war is a lie. Why we were the best of friends with the Royalist officers, and it is absurd to say we lired on them. The only boat we fired on was a Kanaka boat carrying ammunition, and she had no flag. We took several Kanaka cutters and broke them up, but Lliey had no flags."
