A statement of assets and liabilities in the estate of Kinross has been filed, It shows, secured creditors, £131,230 ; unsecured, £45,u5!7; total, £170,819. Assets and securities are valued at £172,451; boob debts, £l(!,li30, estimated to produce £5,000 ; other properties, stock in store and sundries bringing up the estimated surplus to £8,191. HAWERA, Friday. A phenomenal heavy electrical storm passed over the district early this morning, accompanied by heavy rain. A chimney in the house of Mr Curtis, Hawera, was shattered by being struck by lightning, telegraph poles were thrown down and splintered, and a cow was killed.
