Paterangi v. Tuhikaramea
A match between the above clubs will be played in Mr Germann's paddock at Paterangi 011 Saturday next, commencing at 11 a.m. sharp. The home team will be chosen on the ground by the committee from the following members of the Club, who are requested to be on the ground in time Messrs Alexander, Aubin (2), Case, Cunningham, Goodfellow, Grierson, Graham, Germann, Macfailaue, Mackay, Ryburn and Smith. 'Plio above is not a Cup match, as the Paterangi Club have only one more Cup match to play, that being with Hamilton on Saturday, the 2nd of March.
Paterangi v. Rangiaohia and Te Rahu Boys.
A cricket match was played on Saturday last between the Paterangi boys and a combined Rangiaohia and Te Rnhu team, and after a close and interesting game resulted in a victory fur Paterangi by 10 runs. Paterangi played two men short. Paterangi took the wickets and made 51 runs, of which A. Richdale claimed 37, the rest being nowhere. The home team responded with 3S. Paterangi's second venture only resulted in 12 runs, the bowling of E. Bockett being very destructive. With only 25 required to win, the match looked rather healthy for the local team, but they could not stand against the bowling of A. Richdale and R. Ryburn, and the innings closed for 15 runs. The proposed match between the Tuhikaramea and Hamilton Clubs will nut take pliici) mi Saturday, as Tuliikaraiiiea are playin? the Paterangi Cricket Club un that day. Taupiii has challenged Hamilton fur the 2nd February, but as thorn is a cup match between Hamilton and Cambridge it will have to bo played oil the ltith of February,
