CO-OPERATION.
TO THE KDITOIt. Sir, —Permit me, through the medium of your esteemed columns, to offer a word to wheat-growers. lam not a wheat-grower, and on that account may claim lo speak with authority if there be any truth in the old saying that " lookers-on see most of the game." Much has been written and said lately about a means to protect the isolated (and exasperated) farmer from oppression by certain big institutions, which he is wont to considor as "grinding" in more senses than one. Well, messieurs, now is vonr opportunity : the ball is at your feet. The Waikato Coal and Shipping Company are in liquidation. Their property is for sale " regardless of cost price.'' They have a fine mill at Ngaruawahin, which can doubtless lie acquired on those tempting terms. Now, twenty men with five hundred twenty shilling .shares each, probably only half paid up, will give you the following advantages 1. Sufficient capital to run the concern. 2. A not too widuly-distri-buted proprietary, which will enable every proprietor to take an active interest in pushing and managing the business. H. A means of putting a governing-ball on the anainfis of ymir friends the millers that will not only regulate to a nicety the number of pounds of steam they can carry, but will have an important bearing on the number of pounds you yourselves can carry—to the bank. I might enlarge on tlli* S» b jeet jn various ways, but I think I have said enough no\y to entitle nje to subscribe myself—Yours, etc., Vrhd. Sap.
