Picnic. —The children's picnic and annual treat that they all look forward too. came nil' on Wednesday last, at that favourite spot, the Juucti )n farm, Puniu, through the kindness of Mr Stokes, who gave the use of liis beautifully sheltered grounds and paddock for the occasion. Mr J. JJayliss as haudicapper, starter, etc., was all there in his several capacities. Through some misunderstanding tho Alexandra Bind was noc present, which was much regretted, hut a powerful flulina, or something .if that kind, in the hands of Miss K Wilson was not a bad .substitute. In the evening all assembled in front of Mr Stokes , hoi.s-, when cheers were heartily given to Mr and Misses Stokes for the use of the ground, and their kind elforts in assisting in tho entertainment of the visitors.
