THE FREEZING COMPANY'S MANURES.
TO TIIK KhITOK. Sir,—lt is perhaps only an act of justice ju.-.t now when the New Zeala-ud Freezing Company are under a bit of a cloud owing to the fact of some o[ their manur.s recently supplied to farmers in the Waikato having turned out not up to .standard value,' that I. should state that a quantity of their 25.70 superphosphate supplied to me in the middle of November last, ami which I applied (mixed with bonedunt) to a crop of swede turnips, has had 11 very marked elfeet upon the young plant.) as anyone passing here may see. I had used up all the parcel of manure before hearing of this discrepancy in the Freezing Company's superphosphates, so had none of it left to test, tint, judging from results so far, the manure supplied me at that time must have b.vn all that is claimed of it. I am so salislied with the results that f have just hid another live tons supplied mo by the (J iiiipauy. — I am, &c. HEXKY Hum.!:. Aniiandale, Piako, January 11th, lbbt). T-> 'nil'. KIHTOU. Sir,-After perusal of your able article of Ijrd' current, bearing on the values of the manures mauufacUiii'd by this Company, the; e is an a.-pect of the alfair as to its ability to snop'.v imi'e aii'l reliable manures ill future, not touched upon. From the Company's last balance sheet, it is known that on an output of 1 ,'-100 tons of manure the nett proiic accruing was in round numbers £11), while its value proved mi analysis to be vastly below what was gnirauteed. Xo.v f put it to you, -Mr lOdaor, if the .Frozen .Meat. Company could only make a prnlit of £1-11 or one shilling and .sixpence per ton on the sort of manure it lias been furnishing to its customers, how is it in future going to give an urticie up to guaranteed analysis at present will the shareholders put their hands ill their pockets to subsidise the fanners Ouery. —I am Sir, yours truly. I'atkkanci Farmeu.
