Aitken'h Market Report.— Local business has not recovered the effects of the holidays, but the export trade is brisk, consequently increased demand has kept prices firm. The supplies of all kinds have been good, and fully met requirements. Potatoes: (loud samples have been and aro in active demand, but many of those to hand during the week have '/eon very indifferent; growers must take care to thoroughly sort their crops, and place the mme in swund sacks, otherwise highest ' Talues cannot be expected Onions show a greatly improved demand ; slight implement in value. Vegetables unchanged. Bran and sharps dull. Grain : All kinds quiet but firm. Chaff: difficult to place. Poultry: Entered in good numbers; great improvement on lato prices. Pigs : Pens were fairly filled ; prices were easier. Buttor : Large quantity of frosh to hand ; all sold at and above market quotations. Eggs: Increased supply; prices easier; a large quantity of those coming forward are not good. Hams and bacon : Much of that out of cloth ia poor ; really good quality is firm ; damaged lots low.
