A" one npproaohc.l ho seized it in Ins jaws anl threw it off' the stalk. Thu ants seeing chut the: caterfilial- had too Mrong a position for them to overcome, resorted to strategy. They begau sawing , through the prrass .stalk. In ii few iiioiiii-nts the stalk foil, and hundreds of aats pounced upon the c itorpillar. Ho was killed at nncn.
