The Secondary Schools Conference has resolved that it is desirable that the Education Board scholarships be awarded on the result of one examination throughout the colony, and that the holders of scholarships should be required to attend tne secondary schools. A motion asking the Government to appoint a Royal Commission of Education was negatived. Mr Harknesa, of Oamaru, was elected President of the Conference, which-it was decided shall meet two years hence in Wellington, but if urgent business arises ic shall meet in Dunedin' next
