All protests must be accompanied by the sum of ten shilling*, which shall be forfeited to the funds if the protest be not sustained. The winner of any handicap over the value of £5 after the declaration of the starts may be re-handicapped for one or all of the three distances for the Cup. In all races any competitor leaving the mark before the pistol goes off to be penalised and put back in 100 yds. and 120 yds., 1 yard; 200 yds. ami 250 yds., 2 yards; 440 yds., 5 yards; 56Syds., 7 yards; A-mile, 10 yards; ] mile, 20 yards.
