Auckland, Monday. The Supreme Court was occupied this day with the case to determine whether the sum of £804 held by the Public Trustee, having been paid over to him by the executors of Mr Kisslinir, solicitor to James Maeltay several years ago, should be paid to Mr Mackay or to the trustees representing his creditors witli whom lie made a compromise in IS7B, afterA'itrds tiling a petition in bankruptcy. The contention of Maclcay, the plaintiff, was that the money did not properly come into the estate which the creditors had accepted under assignment in satisfaction of their claims. After hearing evidence find arguments, the judge took time to consider his decision.
It is notified that a petition presented by the Bank of New Zealand as creditor of the Waikato Coal and Shipping Company to wind up the said Coal and Shipping Company will be heard by the Supreme Court on January 15th.
