♦ The Waikato Times Office, Monday. MKLBOUUNK MARKETS. Tire Now Zealand Loan niicl Mercantile Agency Company rcpi'it—Melbourne, 21.-t November, 1888:—Grain: The tendency of prices (if all groins during the past week lias been in an upward direction, and as the supply lias not exceeded .ho demand, the movement is likely to be sustained. The crops in the Wiinmera as well as in the Goulbuni Valley have, it is said, been underestimated, and unless bad weather at harvest time, should occur, the average for the colony should be eight bushels to the acre. Assuming that i,300,000 acres arc under crop, this would give us the respectable total of 10,100,000 bushels, or about 3,200,00 bushels in excess of our local demands for food and seod. The London iii!uko f . now no longer directly influences prices in Australia, but indirectly it will have some bearing on shipments from California and India, both of which sources of supply are likely to open up business this year with New South Wales and (Queensland. A small shipment of flour has already been received from the former, and further consignments are expected.— Wheat: Prices have still an upward tendency, and us 5d has been paid for prime Win,mora, winch is scarce. To-day we sold sumo small lots at 5s 5Ad at Moreland for good, and 5s to os3Ad for off samples.— Flour : Demand both for Stone and Roller increased. Wequoto: Stone at £11 to £'11 15s, and Roller at £12 10s to £13. —Oats ■ All feed grains higher. To-day sales made of Calcuttas at 3s 7d to 3s Bd. and stout at 4) Id.
