Criminal Sessions. Tby telegraph—own correspondent]. Auckland, Monday. The Judge's chargo stated the calendar is an average one, there being only 19 persons charged with 17 offences. Nono of these, excepting one, are of a very serious character ; the others mostly consist of horse-stealing, killing cattle with intent to steal, burglary, house-breaking, larceny and embezzlement. Michael Kirby alias Michael Lynch was sentenced to two years for larceny from the dwelling of H. 0. Leo. William Moore alias John Arma'age, six months, for stealing a horse belonging tr> James T. Craig. lJavid Hunter pleaded guilty to embezzling monies belonging to his employers, Moir and Co., of Christchurch. Case adjourned for production of evidence as to character. Francis Benjamin, a coloured man, was sentenced to four months.
