In another column appears a circular issued to milk suppliers in the Waikato by the New Zealand Dairy Association, which is of great interest. The Association state they will give a uniform price of twopence-halfpenny per gallon, with the skim milk returned free, for the remainder of the summer, dating from December Ist. This is an increase of one

farthing in the price agreed upon origiir a'ly. The Association also propose to continue operations beyond next May, and to pay suppliers during the winter months threepence halfpenny per gallon of ten per cent, of cream, with an additional farthing for every 1 percent of cream in excess of that quantity, deducting one farthing per gallon if the skim milk is returned. It is highly gratifying to see this important and valuable industry developing in such a satisfactory manner. There is now a certain and lucrative prospeet before farmers of engagiug in dairying all the year through. There is a direct inducement for them to devote increased care and attention to their dairy stock, and to secure suitable winter fodder, such as ensilage, etc. To give a practical illustration of the dimensions the industry is rapidly assuming, we may mention that duriDg the month of November, the amount of milk supplied to the Association's creameries was within twenty-three pounds of one mil-

lion pounds weight. The December supply promises to exceed this by from one-fourth to one half as much again. The Association exported last month twenty-two tons of butter, exclusive of local sales. This is pleasant reading, and affords an insight into the headway that is being made. The Association deserve the greatest credit for their spirited enterprise, and we trust the cordial relations existing between them and the suppliers will long continue to their mutual advantage.
