« The Waikato Times Office, Friday. AUCKLAND LIVE STOCK MARKETS. Messrs a. Bucklasd and Son's Weekly Report.—At the Hnymarket during the past week (ir.tc.n sheaves have advanced in value to 2s 3d the cwt; meadow hav remains as before : and straw at nominal values, from 5s to 8s the load. On Friday, November -IS, tlie market was fully supplied with horse stock of all classes. Hacks sold freely, and draughts maintained their late values—hacks ranged from t'.'f to £8; draught, 17 to £13 respectively. At the hiilu anil wool sale on Tuesday, hides were in full number, and without alteration in values ; sheepskins also kept their prico, and a huge number of .small lots of wool sold freely at aslight advance. At the privato sale of the estate of the late William Rontly the larin sold for £8 an acre ; shorn owes, lambs at side, Ss each, counting the lambs ; owe hogcets, lO.< lid each ; dairy cuws, .€2 to £-1; working horses, f."i to £8 each. At the country cattle) sales, held respectively at Poketio and Papakuni, the yards have been fairly filled, the attendance numerous, and improved prices obtained both for dairy and store cattle. At Uemuera on Thursday dairy cattle, in less than usual numbers, obtained an advance of about 5s each. Store cattle, in limited number, were at late values. Fat cattle, plentiful, scarcely kept last week's prices, but steers , were not less than 15s per 1001b. Fat cattle, in moderate supply, sold fairly well, fciheep, in full numbers, were from 2.} d to 2Jd per lb ; wethers ranged troin 12s to 15s ; ewes, 8s to 13s each ; lambs, generally of : good quality, brought from 8s to 13s; infe- : rior, from os Gd each. A few store pigs , yarded ; house-fed pigs of moderate weight Bold well.

Hides were pitched in large numbers, and last weelc'i rates obtained, except for tho.'io that were badly damaged. Sheepskins sold at from "is to os lid. Lambskin*, Is Id to Is !)d. Pelts, 7d to !IJ. Rough fat, 14, d. Tallow, 14s Gd to Kis 3d. Wool in bags, ii.Jd to ligil ; locks, 2|d to -Id. Cattle: The supply hue been :in average, one, and steady demand, without noteworthy alteration in value. The Newmarket Yards wero fairly well filled on Tuesday; competition was steady throughout the sale. Store and dairy stock were unaltered in value, but tliero was an advance of from 5s to 10s per head in fat beasts, some averages of which wero : Steers, £T>, i.Vi 2s fid, t'li, Uli 5s (Id. I'll !)•< 3d, £(i 17s (id ; cows, £2 10-, £2 17s (id, £3 '>■■>, £4 7s lid. Sheep: A good many were penned at Newmarket on Tuesday ; competition was keen, and prices advanced from Is to 2s per head for butchers' sheep, but stores did not sell relatively as well. Pigs: Scarce, sold at ">.jd per lb. live weight. CANTERBURY MARKETS. Tlin New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agoncy Company report under date Chnstchnrch, November 23rd. Wheat: The demand continues active and several merchants' parcels have changed hands during the week at the equivalent of 4s to 4s 2d, f.o.b. Farmers' Into are becoming scarce, but for all offering similar prices are obtainable. Whole fowl wheat for shipment to Australia has been in strong request, and up to '.U Td f.o.b, has been given for good parcels. Dairy produce : Butter—The effect of the dn-mght in Australia has caused a good demand from that quarter, and farmers have no difficulty in placing well-made parcels at 7d to Sd per AUSTRALIAN MARKETS. Thn New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company's report, dated Sydney, November 17th. gives the following quotations :—New Zealand butter, Is to la Id per lb ; cheese, linn at !).}d to 10d ; maize, prices have risen rapidly to 'M lid, the demand etill firm. ; oats, Us to 3s 2d, with indication of immediate improvement in values. Prices generally ruled from Id to Id dearer than closing rates last series. A special message to the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company reports :—Wool ■ The sales opened with spirit this day, at an average advance of about 7?. d per cent, on last sale's closing rates. The opening catalogue contained ODOO bales, but was not a representative jine. It was decided this series of sales to have farthing bids up to Sd, beyond that value halfpenny bids. London , , November 28.—Thorn was a crowded attendance at. the wool sales today, and new clips were eagerly competed for. Greasy sorts have advanced 5 to 7 per cent., and scoured 10 per cent.
