The following has been received from the General Manager of the Eastern Extension Company We have altered the system somewhat, so as to accelerate the transmission of messages to Australia, and hope that all London early work will get through by midnight. Also the following, dated 12th inst, The renewal of the original cable was finished mi 20th October. Thß Sherrard Osborne has been clearing tho gronnd for the renewal of the duplicate cable. She is now coaling at Sourabayor and is expected to resume work on the duplicate to-morrow, and hopes to finish in a few days. The Recorder is lying at JJjinjoowangi, and when the Sherrard Oiborne has finished the renewal of the duplicate cable the Rec irder f?»es to take line soundings direct from Banjoewtiugi to Roebuck Bay, which she will enter and inspect for a landing place, etc.
