TROUT IN THE WAIKATO.

TO THK EDITOR. Sir,— Knowing the gentleman who gave you the information with reference to the trout seen in the Waikato River, to have been an experienced fisherman in the Old Country, I am sure he would not mistake the beautifully-shaped and spotted trout for the rounder and coarser looking fish, the pokororo. This ia not the first time that I have heard of trout being seen near Hamilton, for a couple of months ago I was out boating with a gentleman who had-bad some experience in trout fishing in the South of England and he pointed out several young trout near the bank under the railway bridge.—l am, &c. Angler.
