Notices. TOWN OF RAGLAN HIGHWAY 1 BOARD. The following is publicly notified, in accordance with Clause 4, Sub-section 2 of "The Road Boards Act, 1582." ALLAN GILMOUR, Chairman Town of Raglan Highway Board. Raglan, October 30th, ISBB. Notice is hereby given that a petition will be presented to the Raglan County Council, praying that the district within the undermentioned boundaries be annexed to and amalgamated with the Town of Raglan District Highway Board, the united districts to be called the Raglan Highway Board. This petition is now lying at the residence of the Clerk, Town of Raglan Highway Board at Karioi. All that area in the Provincial District of Auckland, commencing at the northernmost angle of the Town of Raglan in Whaingaroi Harbour. Bounded towards the East generally by the NorthEastern boundary of the Town of Raglan to the Opoturu Creek, thence crossing that creek to the .Northern extremity of Section No. 1 of the Parish of Karioi, thence following the Opoturu Creek aforesaid to the South-Eastern angle of Section No. 57 of the Parish of Karioi aforesaid, thence by the Southern boundary of Section No. 57, the North-Western boundaries of Sections No. 59a., 59, 102, and 40, the Western boundaries of Sections No. 35 and 34, the Pouth - Western and Southern boundaries of Section No. 66, the North - Eastern, Eastern and Southern boundaries of Section No. 107, the Southern boundary of Section No. HO, part of the Snuth-Western boundary of Section No. 10S, thfi South-Eastern boundary of Section No. 25, the North-Eas-tern and South-Eastern boundaries of Section No. 23, the South-Eastern boundary of Section No. 22, and the SouthEastern boundaries of Section No. 21 to its South-Eastern angle, towards the South by the Southern boundaries of Sections Nos. 21, 20, 79, and 96, all of the Parish of Karioi aforesaid to high-water marks of the sea, and towards the West and NorthWest by high-water mark of the sea, and to Whaingaroa Harbour to the commencing point.

Entries for all handicaps must be sent in to the Secretary not later than Monday, the lOth December, with entrance fees. They must be accompanied by performances on pain of disqualification. No entries will be received except on the condition that all claims, disputes and objections shall be decided by the committee, such decision to be final. All protests must be accompanied by the sum of ten shillings, which shall be forfeited to the funds if the protest be not sustained. The winuer of any handicap over the value of £5 after the declaration of the starts may be re-handicapped for one or all of the three distances for the Cup. In all races any competitor leaving the mark before the pistol goes oil' to be penalised and put back in 100 yds. and 120 yds., 1 yard; 200 yds. and 250 yds., 2 yards; 440 yds., 5 yards; S6Byds., 7 yards; J-mile, 10 yards; 1 mile, 20 yards. Any competitor making three false starts will be disqualified. No qualification or acceptance fee for any race.
