VOLUNTEER INTELLIGENCE.
Hamilton Light Infantry.
On Tuesday evening last, at the regular parade of the above company, there was a very full muster, between 00 and 70 of all ranks (inclusive of the Band) being present. The men were exercised in company movements by Captain Reid. the manual by Lieutenant Edgecumbe, and the firing exercise by Lieutenant Kirk. After drill four new members were unanimously elected, and sixty of the corps signified their intention of going to Auckland on the Bth (today). Had the railway arrangements been such that the men could have returned on Friday night, no doubt the company would have mustered eighty strong in Auckland on review day. We have no doubt the Company will acquit themselves well at Mangere, and reflect credit on their officers and themselves. The band will accompany the corps under their able bandmaster, Mr Mettam, and we are sure their efficiency will be a surprise to the townspeople. The Company leave bv train this morning, mustering at the Volunteer Hall at half-past il'll'l- - their stay in town they will be quartered at Mr John Endean's Waiteinata Hotel, whose business notice appears elsewhere.
