Tim IVaikala 'lima Ojfie>, Friday. WAIKATO LI VIC STOCK MARKETS. Mb W. J. Huntku reports At Hamilton yards, on Thursday 25th inst., there was a good muster of cattle, horses, and sheep, but not uiany buyers, dairy cows close to profit, sold well, all other classes dull, nearly nil sold but at low pricc. The fat sheep yarded were passed. I quotedairy cows from, £2 10.-i to £3 17s (id ; fresh store cows, £117s lid ; woaned calves, Ss to loj ; 1 to 1.',-year-old steers, 18s to 27s ; hacks from £2 to £1; draughts from, £1 to £li ss. At Cambridge, on Saturday 27th inst., only springing cows and heifers yarded, for which thore was little or no demand, and only about half sold. There was a very largo muster of horses and a good many sold, also a lot of produce. I quote:— springing heifers, £210s to £3 2s (id ; bacon. 5d per lb ; empty sacks, 3s dozen ; hacks from £6 ; ponies, SI 10s to £4. No draughts sold. At Ohaupo on Tuesday, Oetober 30th, the yards were again crammed with cattle, principally good steers and cows for fattening purposes. There was a rery large attendance of buyers from all parts of Waikato, Thames and Shaftesbury. Spirited competition existed for good sorts, which sold at satisfactory prices. There is also a good demand for well-bred steers, Ito 2years old,and we can place a large number at our next Ohaupo sals. A large number of fat c.ittle were disposed of, only a few fat sheep penned. Wa quote: Dairy cows at profit, £3 to £1; 1 to l j-year-old steers, 18s to £1 10s ; 2.1 to 3-year-old steers, well-bred, £2 Ss to £3 lis; 4-year-old bullocks, £3 2s (id to £4 ; fresh spayed cows and heifers, £112s to £2 lis ; fat cows and heifers, £2 10s to £5; fat steers, £4 12s 6d to £5 12s Gd ; fat shorn hoggett, 9s each.

Bucki.an'd and Sons' Weeki.y Report.—At the Haymarket during the past week prices of loose fodder have been nominal from 5s to 10s for small loads, and from 9d tola (id per cwt, for large ones, have been the prices given. Sales of feeding grain have been limited ; oats at 2s 9d, maize, 2s lOd per bushel. At the Haymarket on Friday, horses were yarded in full numbers, and generally of good quality. Riding horses were in fair demand, but farm horses scarcely inquired for, those gold at lato values. On Tuesday hides scarcely maintained late values, with the exception of calf skins, which were in demand; for sheepskins, wool, full prices were given. At the cattle sale, held at Pukekohe on Monday, an unusual number of stock of all classes was yarded. Bidding was general throughout the sale, and an inquiry was manifested for dairy cows, _ and quiet heifers and steers wore comparatively neglected. At I'apakura on Wednesday a similar feeling was shown, dairy stock being in botter inquiry than other descriptions. At Remucra, on Thursday, dairy cattle were at low values. Store cattle : Plentiful, but prices are lower than a month since, fully one-third. Pat cattle, in full numbers, maintained the values obtained for the past two weeks : Steers, from 14s to lfo; cows, lis to 13s the 1001b ; averages for steers ranged from £5 10s to Jtlli IDs ; for cows, from £3 os to £4 each. Sheep were in less than usual numbers, but scarcely kept late values, and a number were withdrawn. Lambs, plentiful, kept thoir valuua : Prices ranged from 7s to 13s each. Pigs were lower in price throughout the sale.
Messrs Huxtkr and Nolan's Wkkki.y Repore.—Horse feed, seeds, 'grain : There has been an average supply and steady demand at the previous week's values. We quote: Short feed oats, 2s t>d per bushel; Danish, 2s 8d ; Tartarian, 2s ild ; maize, 2s 8d per bushel; bran, £'ij per ton; sharps, £1. Horses : There has been an increase in the activity noted in the market last week, and those of a good stamp fonnd ready purciialers, with an upward tendency in prices. A good many were entered for disposal by auction at the Durham Yards on Friday. Bidding was spirited throughout the sale, and most of the lots were cleared at prices satisfactory to the vendors. Hacks sold at from £5 to £14 10s; light harness horses, from £12 to £14 10s ; strong spring-cart horses, from £12 to £10 10s. Wool, hidos, skins and tallow : Hides were brought forward in moderate numbers at the Durham Yards on Tuesday ; skins were plentiful, and competition was brisk throughout. We quote: Ox hides, at from 3Sd to -Ud per lb; cow, 2\d to 3^d; calfskins, to 4M per lb; tallow, £11 10j per ton; sheepskins, 4s (id to 5s (id each; pelts, tid each ; tallow lis Gd to 15s 3d for first-class. Cattle : There has been an improved demand for dairy stock, and a good many have been brought for ward. Stores in more limited numbers without alteration in value. Fat beasts in adequate number, and steady competition was maintained throughout the sale, but there was no noteworthy alteration in values. Some averages were : Cows, £3 2s 6d, £4, £4 lis 3d, £5 7s 0d ; steers, £4 lGs 3d, £4 18s, £5 15s, £U, £f> lis 3d, £0 Ills. Sheep: Barely an average number was penned at Newmarket on Tuesday, but the demand was brisk, without any material alterations in values. Wethers in wool, 15s; shorn, 10 s Gd to lis fld; shorn lambs were plentiful and well competed for, and sold at from 7s 3d to 13s. Pigs wero in average supply. Well-bred stores and porkers sold relatively higher than coarse animals. Prices ranged from 2d to 3.jd per lb., live weight. There exists a demand for well-bred store Pigs-
