CRICKET.

Cambridge v. Tuhikaramea. The above clubs met at Oliaupo on Saturday, and held their first battle for the Association Cup. As will be seen by the subjoined score, the result was a win for Cambridge by 4 wickets and 2 runs. Both clubs were represented by full teams, and a very friendly and thoroughly enjoyable game was indulged in. The following is the score :—

Hamilton v. Taupiri. This match wag played on Saturday at Taupiri, and was won easily by the latter by eight wickets. The game was played in one of Mr Lovell's paddocks, on a splendid wicket, which had been turfed by the Taupiri Club. Hamilton batted first, making 45 runs ; Gaudin 11, and T. G. Sandes 10, wore the only doubles. Taupiri responded with G4, Connolly 21, and Gleeson 10, playing good cricket for their runs. Gaudin's bowling was very fatal. He did the "hat trick," clean bowling three men. T. G. Sandes made a most phenomenal one-handed catch at point off a hard drive from Cox. Hamilton's second innmtts amounted to 31, Sandes again getting double figures. Connolly and T. White each made a magnificent catch. Taupiri then followed, and got the required 13 runs for the loss of two wickets. Hamilton has to thank three Huntly players for fielding as substitutes.
