FiiED lioiiiiivK, a prospector living near the Plutus battery, went for water last night for tea but not returning his mate, fearing that something was wrong, went in search of him and found him lying in the creek with his face dreadfully cut, having apparently tripped and fallen head first into the creek. Ho got him out and went for assistance but Bourke died at ten o'clock. An inonest is taking place to-day at Tokatea.
