The Waikato Farmers' Association, which has been lately created, will hold its second meeting at Ohaupo this morning. It is intended to adopt the rules which have been prepared for the constitution of the Association, and to elect an executive. It is a matter for congratulation that the movement, on the principle of co-operation, has so far gained a substantial footing. If the hearty interest of the whole farming community of Waikato be awakened, and enters upon the movement just begun in a thoroughly loyal spirit, we may safely predict a groat future for it most beneficial to the district. There arc brilliant examples before the Association to guide them in their action. There is the Great Combine of America, to which we have referred on former occasions, and the Civil Service Supply Association of Great Britain, both of which from small insigniiicent beginnings now count their operations yearly by millions. The safest ourse in all such-, combinations is to creep before walking, and to observe a rigid adherence to cash transactions in which is contained the sole key to success. Careful management is a leading factor to a prosperous career, and in this respect we are plensed to hear, and our readers will join in our expressions of satisfaction, that Mr Lake, late M.H.R., will in all probability be connected with the Association as its chairman.
