TE AROHA.

Town Board.—The monthly meeting of the Town Board was held in ths Board's office on Saturday, the 13th ins>t. at 7 o'clock. Present : Ors. Gallagher (chairman), Mills and Ebert. The minutes of the special meeting held on September 29th were read and confirmed. Financial position : The following accounts were passed for payment.—W. Hetherington, £8 19s; H. Crump, £1 Is ; Clerk, £3 15s ; J. Dare, £2 10s ; R. Michael, £15 13s Gd ; H. Newton, 12s lOd ; total, £32 lis fid ; bank overdraft, £L 7 3s ; unpresented cheques, £4. The Clerk stated that the rates uncollected would possibly realize £02. On the motion of Or. Ebert it was resolved that the chairman and mover interview the manager of the Bank of New Zealand and arrange for a further overdraft. New Work : The chairman drew the Board's attention to tho necessity of having a watertable constructed along the road parallel with the domain fence. Com. Mills proposed, and Coin. Ebert seconded that the chairman and Com. Ebert arrange to havo the work done at lowest possible cost. Carried. The engineer reported that an amount of metal had been supplied to the Board which he would recommend having spread at once, and drew attention to the way the horses and cattle were destroying footpaths. Com. Ebert moved, and Coin. Mills seconded that the report be received, and that the Inspector of Nuisances be instructed to proceed against any person injuring the footpaths in contravention of sub-section 2 of by-law 2. Carried. It was resolved, on the >»«ition of the Chairman, that the lamp at the postoffice be dispensed with during the summer months.

Accident.—An accident, which narrowly escaped being of a very serious nature, happened to a son of Mr John McKeo, caretaker of the Domain, on Sunday last. The little fellow fell down a hill while playing with his companions, and a stick ran into his neck, inflicting a severe cut. Br. Hooper was called in and the wound was sewn up. Though still weak from Joss of blood, the Dr. says he will be all right in a few days. Visitors. —From the numbers of visitors already here, and the very fine weather we are having, tkere is every probability that our baths will be well patronised this year,
