Oats : Milling, 2s 4d ; bright short, 2s 2d to 2s 3d ; duns, 2s Id; Black Nubians, 2s 3d ; Danish, 2s to 2s U. Barley : Prime seed Chevalier, 4s 8d ; Cape, 3s ; malting, 4s 4d; feed, 2s 8d; pearl, £20. Peas : Prussian blue peas, 3s ; white, 3s: dun, 3s; partridge, 3s; split, £14. The above prices current are all f.0.b., Lyttelton, sacks and packages extra, except when otherwise specified. The Nkw Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, (Ld.) Retort:— Christchurcli, September 28th. Wheat: A quieter tone has prevailed throughout the week, which may be attributed to divergence in the views of buyers and sellers. At present English quotations and current rates of freight buyers cannot offer more than 3s 5d f.0.b., whilst holders demand 3s 6d to 3s 7d. Some small orders have been executed on the basis of 3s Od Pearl and Tuscan, 3s 5d Hunter's f.0.b.. and unless the English market shows some recovery during tho next month these figures will not bo paid, as millers are fairly well stocked for some time to come. Second quality milling has been placed in quantity at 3s id to 3s 3d f.o.b. good whole chickwheat 3s, and good seconds at 2s lOd to 3s 2d. SYDNEY MARKETS. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency report under date, Sydnoy, September 27:—Wheat (free).— There is still considerable inquiry for prime New Zealand Tuscan, for milling purposes, bn', the difficulty in obtaining freight still prevents business, and quotations are merely nominal: say 4s 6d to 4s B(l.—Flour (free): The buoyancy which characterised this market for some few weeks has largely disappeared, and although quotations are nominally maintained, transactions are on a very small scale, and buyers will not pay prices asked for.—We quota :—Roller brands, £10 10s to £11 lis ; stone brands, £9 to £10.
