CRICKET.
A MEBTlN'ti of cricketers was held in Hamilton last Wednesday. There were present-. — Messrs Gobte, Lang, and S. Reid, of the Tuhikaramea Club, Messrs Stewart and Wilson of the Cambridge Club, Messrs Stevens and Gaudin of the Hamilton Club, and Messrs Richdale and McFarlane of the Paterungi Club. The Taupiri Club was unable to send representatives, but said they would consent to the decisions of those present. Mr Lang was voted to the chair. It was resolved to play for a Waikato cup, each club contributing 10s. The cup is to become the property of the club that wins it twice in succession or three times at intervals. Mention was made of cricketers playing for more than one club in a season. Any club playing with members of other clubs will be disqualified for the cup. In order that matches may bo played out, it was resolved that all games begin at eleven a. in. The following programmo for the season was drawn up : — October 27.—Hamilton v. Taupiri, at Taupiri ; Cambridge v. Tuhikaramea, at Ohaupo. November 3—Hamilton v. Tuhikaramea, at Hamilton ; Paterangi v. Cambridge, at Cambridge. November 10.—Taupiri v. Cambridge, at Hamilton : Pateraugi v. Tuhikaramea, at Tuhikaramea.. ; November 17.—Hamilton v. Cambridge, at Cambridge; Paterangi v. Taupiri, at Hamilton. November 24.—Cambridge v. Tuhikaramea. December I.—Hamilton v. Paterangi, at Paterangi; Tuhikaramea v. Taupiri, at Hamilton. December B.—Hamilton v. Tuhikaramea. at Tuhikaramea ; Cambridge v. Paterangi, at Paterangi. December In.— I Taupiri v. Hamilton, at Hamilton ; Tuhikaramea v. Paterangi, at Paterangi. December 22.—Cambridge v. Tanpiri, at Hamilton. February 2.—Hamilton v. Cambridge, at Hamilton. I February 'J.—Hamilton v. Paterangi, at I Hamilton, February 10.—Tuhikaramea v. Taupiri, at Hamilton. March 2.—Paterangi v. Taupiri, at Hamilton. The Tuakau Glnb has sent challenges to the Waikato Clubs, to play during Christmas week ; and an Auckland Club will play at Cambridge. Before the close of the meeting, Mr Stevens proposed a vote of thanks to Mr Stewart for the interest he had taken in initiating and starting cup matches.
