On Friday, 21st September, prices fur ordinary horse stock were well sustained, and ranged from i.> t<< £0. The entire lmive I'Veso King brought £■10 and a spring cart tlli. Also, by private Bale, the farm of Mr W Ryle at Waiuku, at £3 10s .in acre. At the hide and skin sale on Tuesday, prices for best hides were firm, one parcel of heavy ox brought Ahd ; K"»d medium, ..j'd and Id ; cows, 2jjd"to iigd the lb ; tallow, 12s (id and 13a (id the cw t ; good woolled skins, from 3s to !is Gel each ; wool, OM to 7d the lb. At tho Pukekohe cattle sale on Monday, there was a full muster of stock, and a steady enquiry for all classes, particularly dairy cows, throughout the sale ; iinrl at Papakurann Wednesday, although a smaller muster of stock, prices were equally well sustained. At the Remuera Yards, on Thtirsday, dairy cows were in bettor inquiry. Store cattle, in full numbers, wild freely at fully late values. Eat calves abundant nnd lower in price. Fat cattle, in full supply, sold irregularly ; whilst some pens were at last week's values, others were lower from fis to 10s each. Prices for steers ranged from £410s to £S 5s ; cows, from £3 to £4 as. Fat sheep wero in limited number and at late values. Wethers ranged from 13s to lfis. Lambs, in moderate numbers, brought from 7s to 13s each. For well-bred porkers good prices were obtained; but coarse pigs were at very low values.
