HOME, DEA.R HOME.
Over the sea a ship did sail, Driving on the gale. Homo the skipper camo to see Wife and children joyfully. " Home, dear home ! S.viftly tho cloud wrack rolled behind, Whistled loud tho restlesa wind ; Laughed the skipper—" Harbour s near, Neither cloud nor wind I fear. Home, dear home!
Came a storm petrel flying past; Perched upon the bonding mast. " Bird of fate, I fear not thee, Wife ixnd children watch for me. Home, dear home ! Dark Rrew the night, the sea roared loud; Torn the snil, and rent the shroud, Shone the harbour lipfhts afar— " There my wife and buirnfo are. Home, dear home I Thundered the Rea alonjt the shore, Louder, louder than before; On the rocks a wreck was castRose n cry above the blast. " Home, dear homo ! Roey the sun at rnorninK sinil'd O'er tho foaming waters wild. Slept the skipper on the shore, Safe in port for evermore. '• Homo, dear home ! —R. S. Hickens.
