WESTI'ORT, Monday. A sharp shook of earthquake was felt at ten minutes to eight last night. There have been slight vibrations during the past week at Kaikoura, and a sharp earthquake shock was felt here at halfpast seven o'clock yesterday morning, and a slight one thirty-live minutes later. The duration of the first was not very distinct being more like a sharp wrench.
KAIKOUKA, Monday. A short sharp earthquake shock was felt here at 7 30 yesterday morning, and a slight one 35 minutes later.
C hKISTCHURCH, Monday. It was discovered this morning that Messrs M;ison and Struthers' wholesale ironmongery store had been broken into, and about £10 worth of goods taken. Au entrance was effected by a back window, probably about noon yesterday, as a mail living at the back heard a knocking iu the warehouse about that time.
