THE MINERS' STRIKE.
[BY KuXTiUU TkLKUK.U'H.— COI'YKIGHT.] Sydney, September 14. The mine-masters have; declined to aeeede to the request to alter a clause in their agreement, and the conference has broken up without ell'eeting any satisfactory results.
Little suiprise is felt here at the failure of the Conference yesterday between the coal mast ts and men. A largo number of miners have left ■England for Newcastle under a three years'engagement. A further Intel) will follow shortly. It is stated that an olf'ur has been made to the mine masters to bring out three thousand Belgians to take the place of the men out on strike.
