INYERCARGILL, Wednesday. A woman name:! Kliz-ibeth Charlotte Allen, alias Phcmista, alias Wong See Wont', was committed for trial at llivertnn for the manslaughter of her infant ehilil. The woman lives with the Chinese at Hound Hill, and the evidence showed that shi. , went about helpless and intoxi cated with the child, which she neglected to feed or clothe properly. The medical testimony was to the effect that the child died from starvation. MASTERTON, Wednesday. Mr J. C. Vallance, well-known in racing circles, died last night at Kaluimingi station after a brief illness, CHUISTCHUItCH, Wednesday.
