CAMBRIDGE CRICKET CLUB.

The annual meeting; of the Cambridge Cricket Club was held at Bach's Criterion Hotel on Friday night, when there was a ctood attendance. Mr W. S. Stewart occupied the chair. The annua! report was read. It stated that, notwithstanding many drawbacks, the Club might congratulate themselves on their past success, as out of nine matches played they won six, tied one, and lost only two. They had suffered defeat at the hands of Hamilton and Paterangi, and the tied game was worthy of note, as Cambridge played tw» men short opposed to Paterangi's strong and full team. It was to be hoped that in future no discord between Waikato teams would prevent their taking the best means to represent the county. It was to be regretted that a number of first-class eriekoters were leaving the district, such as Messrs Hunt, Angus, Forrest, A. B. Stubbing and Ansenne, but happily others had come to reside here, and others were rising up. The report appealed to members to show that enthusiasm in the good old game, which would not only deserve but command success. The report was adopted, as was also the statement of accounts. It was resolved to communicate with other clubs in the district respecting contributions to a cup to be won by the club winning the greatest number of club matches. Heart}' votes of thanks to the secretary and treasurer for the past year, and to Mr James Taylor for the use of his roller, were passed, and the first practice was fixed for Wednesday next. The meeting then terminated.
