Tub cutter South Carolina left Maori Bay, Great Kirrier Island, yesterday morning for Auckland at about 3 p.m. A tremendous squali from the south-west struck her, and she rilled with water and sank. The crew, livu in number, took to the dingy, and thestuamer lona fortunately coming past rescued thorn from tlmir perilous position.
